family tavern

Anyone who has ever eaten a hot dog from a vendor’s cart on the sidewalk will recognize the concept.

Carey Basciano developed this comfortable eatery in 2005. He turned back the clock to create a traditional American take out based on the ethnic foods of the sidewalk stop or the corner tavern found in a city. It brings bar food up a notch and brings guests indoors to a friendly gathering spot. Almost everything is homemade including condiments such as the organic brown mustard made with Guinness beer and the catsup with habanera chili peppers, all showcasing the extensive restaurant experience of Chef Rafael Palacios.

There’s a dog of Italian, German or Polish flavor, or a creative fusion dog which combines the New York hot dog with a New England roll and a topping from another favorite region.

Dessert could be a fried Twinkie or fried Oreo. Which do you want today?

A recent visit by sports reviewer Ed Avery prompted high praise for "one of the best burgers anywhere in America."

Headquarters of the local Browns’ Backers Club and recently a Jets fans' hangout too.
